i have never been good at making new years resolutions. actually, making them is easy…it’s keeping them that’s hard. this year i vow to slow down and enjoy more. i am always doing ten things at once and i really really want to try and maybe bring that down to five things at once (hey, it’s a start). one thing i AM going to do this year is the 2012 happiness challenge. basically i am hoping to learn how to not sweat the small stuff and to enjoy more. don’t you just love the hope that a new year brings?

p.s. this is the video made me tear up and convinced me to join the happiness challenge. i no longer want to just get through the days, but actually enjoy them.

p.s.s. this is a MUST READ. it is a great reminder that there is NO better time than right now to be happy. xoxo

p.s.s.s. (is that too many p.s.’s?) and since hollywood housewife is the one that introduced me to the happiness project a few months ago…i am linking up with her again to share my one and only new years resolution.

That video made me tear up too! One of my goals for 2012 is to spend less time on the computer & more time with my kids – for this very reason! It’s so easy to get sucked in to reading Twitter or working on a blog post and then I’ve wasted an hour I could have spent playing or reading to them. I don’t want to look back and think, “why didn’t I give them more of my time?”. Thanks for this reminder and for further confirming my decision for the new year…just another reason why I love you girl! 🙂

You have a beautiful home Jenn! I have lots of things I need to work on in 2012. As for the outfit post pictures, I put all the outfits in advance and my Mom comes up once a month to photograph. It’s tough but we get all the outfit posts taken in the span of a weekend.

I’m so glad that the Happiness Project resonated with you! There are several things from that book that I still think about when I’m having an, um, unhappy day.

Good luck with it! Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Loved your photos! Definitely going to check out these links. I think it’s so important for us all to slow down and actually live life a little more. Certainly something I need to work on!
