I’ve acquired quite the selection of kimono’s over the last couple of years. But I think this one might just be my fave. I can’t get enough of black & white and the fringe makes it a perfect piece to dress up or down! But what I really want to talk about is the first pic in this post. I’ve mentioned probably a million times that I ALWAYS shoot my pics with a flash (Gasp! I know!) but after I knew I had at least four usable pics for this post, I played with my camera settings again. This was the final pic of the day and I just loved how it turned out straight out of the camera. It’s gritty…but I love the bokeh blurred background. But then again, I love the crispness of the last pic. Which do you prefer?

I originally titled this post “Sweet Leaf” which is one of my all-time favorite songs by Black Sabbath. But then I figured people might read too much into the lyrics…lol. I haven’t listened to Black Sabbath in FOREVER. When I was in high school…before the internet was invented…I remember trying so hard to get my hands on a copy of the album that had this song on it and the best I could come up with was a cassette tape that someone had taped off of the radio. Good god I sound old. Speaking of the internet, I still have and use my first email address ever. It’s pretty embarrassing when I have to give it out…which is quite often. But I just can’t quit it.

Piperlime is one of my absolute favorite one stop shops for everything from clothes, to shoes, to accessories from all of my favorite designers. So I was thrilled when I was chosen to style a couple of pieces that were hand chosen for me from their winter lineup. And let me tell you they hit the nail on the head with each piece. I’ve really been into throwing light layers over all of my favorite sundresses and this lace/crochet top was the perfect piece to pair with my fave little black slip dress. And you can never go wrong with a leather & lace combo in my book! And well….the second piece had me at “Rachel Zoe”…I mean, hello. This top has all of the classic Rachel Zoe elements…boho and feminine with a little tuxedo-ish twist with the velvet piped trim on the sleeves and  neckline. Naturally I paired it with flared jeans to pay homage to Rachel Zoe’s signature look.
