Summertime

YOU GUYS. It is officially Summer. FINALLY. The June gloom has disappeared and my little guy graduated Kindergarten with flying colors. Today was our first official day off so we slept in (well, if you consider 6:45am sleeping in) and then we went to the gym. Most kids go to camps over Summer but my kiddo gets to go to the gym kids club…ha ha! Lucky for me, he actually likes it. I don’t know how much longer that will last, but for now…I’ll take it! Tomorrow we are going to get in a little beach time and then some more rest & relaxation. Ahhhh…I LOVE Summer!

Outfit Details: Forever 21 Jumpsuit (currently sold out), Soludos Espadrille Sandals (similar), Clutch, Baublebar Mira Layered Necklace, Madewell Bracelet (similar)

One of the cool things about being a blogger is that you get the opportunity to check out hip new places and/or attend events that you might not otherwise hear about. I feel like I should preface this with the fact that I come from a wall street environment (actually worked at Goldman Sachs in NYC to give you an idea) so most of my work experience was in an office where everything was “old school”. Apparently a lot has changed since I was in the workforce! Now-a-days there is something called a shared workspace. And I don’t just mean setting up camp at your local Starbucks. Back in March, I was invited to spend the day at WeWork San Diego. I am not even joking when I tell you that I might actually enjoy going back to work if I got to work in a space like this! I did feel like I was pretending to be a millennial for a minute but with ping pong tables, beer (and coffee!) on tap, and fun music playing on all floors (in the common areas)…I could DEFINITELY get used to it. Seriously…I’d like to apologize for my singing along (word for word, I might add) to Black Sheep’s “The Choice is Yours”. WeWork San Diego offers several different plans with the lowest plan starting at just $45/mo which you can read about more here. The San Diego location is in the heart of downtown and has fab views from all 6 floors. So I’m curious…have any of you been to or worked out of a shared space office??? Here are a few snapshots from my day:

P.S. This is NOT a sponsored post. I just wanted to share with you because I thought it was so awesome! But I did use a referral code link which would give me a commission should you join on my recommendation. =)

Eureka!

This is the most photos you will probably ever see me share in a single post, but it is for good reason! For only the 3rd time in the seven years I’ve been blogging, I had someone else take my photos! And let me tell you…it was SUCH a treat. Christy from Christy Golder Photography reached out and asked me if I would like to collaborate since we are both in the San Diego area…and after looking at her portfolio, I jumped at the chance! We decided to meet up at a central location (Westfield UTC Mall) and snapped as many photos as possible in about an hour and a half time frame. As most of you probably know by now, I take all of my own photos for the blog with a tripod and remote. So to be able to just walk around and have someone snap pics as we strolled along was a dream come true. If you are local and in need of a photographer for family/lifestyle photos, wedding or even boudoir pics…Christy is your girl! She is so easy to talk to and I felt like I’d known her for years!

At the end of the day we stopped into Eureka for a quick “mocktail”. This was one of their fancy drinks called the ruby grapefruit something rather (minus the alcohol). We were running out of time so I made sure to come back with my mom a few weeks later and we took advantage of their “Hoppy Hour” specials. We ordered the lollipop corndogs, mac n’ cheese balls and the chicken nachos to split. And Oh My Gosh was everything DELICIOUS! You can check out the full menu here. I used to work right across the street from Westfield UTC Mall and am certain this would have been my go-to lunch spot had it been around when I worked there! P.S. The photos below were taken by me but all photos above were taken by Christy.

YOU GUYS. It’s finally starting to feel like Summer! The problem is…I am getting major short timers attitude when it comes to school. My little guy on the other hand…doesn’t want school to end! Which makes my heart so happy. I LOVE that he loves school…but mama is ready for a break on being a taxi driver! Ha! Who’s with me?!? But back to that Summer weather y’all! I love nothing more than wearing all white everything in the summertime. And one of the HOTTEST trends this season is tassels! So what better way to update my favorite Summer look than with some fresh new baubles from 7 Charming Sisters. I am wearing the Kindness Matters Necklace (which also just so happens to be on MAJOR sale now!) and the Clean Energy Bracelet Set. The necklace is gold & gray making it a perfect piece for metal mixing and the bracelet has beautiful neutral tones that go with everything. And BOTH have tassels! I love layering necklaces but with this one…the layers are built in and I LOVE the little gold 7 Charming Sisters medallion that hangs in the back creating back jewelry without even trying!

Who What Wear

I shared this dress on IG a few weeks ago and apparently it has since sold out in this color. There are a few sizes left in the floral print which I also love but solids are sold out for the most part! Or check your local store because I’ve seen the army green and polka dot version still available at mine as recently as last week. BTW…Target dollar bins already have their 4th of July gear and yours truly has already stocked up. If you’ve been following along for a while, then you know I LOVE our little country style parade and can never get enough red, white & blue flair! See pics from years past here, here and here.
