Off the Shoulder Dress

Swirl Boutique Encinitas

I’m SO glad that the off the shoulder trend is sticking around because I am obsessed. I’ve already got quite the selection but I just picked up this dress, an off the shoulder short set and an off the shoulder top! Last year was the year of the romper (for me) and I think this year may be the year of the off the shoulder everything. OoOoO…speaking of…an off the shoulder romper would be fab. Do I have one?!? LOL

JTV

When I was little, Valentine’s Day was one of my favorite holidays. I can still remember the paper mailboxes we made in class and the thrill of going through all of my Valentine’s Day cards for days after. Then when we got older, my friends and I would compare our cards trying to decide if the boys we had crushes on picked special cards out just for us. Isn’t it funny the memories that stick with us through the years? I can’t remember what I did yesterday, but I sure do remember that paper mailbox…LOL. Last year I celebrated “Galentine’s Day” with my bloggy bestie Shanna. This year I’m celebrating with one of my IRL besties and surprising her with this JTV turquoise necklace. I’ve always loved turquoise (as evidenced by this Instagram) and now I get to share my love of the stone with her and YOU guys. One lucky reader will win this exact same necklace! Get the details on how to enter to win at the end of this post. You can also check out JTV’s Valentine’s Day Gift Guide here.

If you read the title of this post, you are probably thinking I meant 80’s music…which I DO love. But even more than 80’s music…I love when it’s 80 degrees outside! Hip hip hooray for the groundhog not seeing his shadow because I am READY for Spring. Like…SO READY. I stepped outside with a light cardigan on this morning and quickly ditched it. Target Bikini

Every year we begin to plan our summer vacations in the middle of winter. It usually starts with us daydreaming about sunshine and reminiscing about previous trips to the desert or our annual Carpinteria camping trip.  And then that dreaded thought of putting on a swimsuit creeps into the back of my mind. Why is it that swimsuits ALWAYS come out AS SOON as the holidays are over, when I’ve done nothing but eat, drink and skip out on workouts for the past month? I’ve never been big on swimsuits but this year I’ve decided I’m not going to sit back and watch my husband have all the fun with the water activities with our son! No more #FOMO for this mama!

Since swimsuit shopping is a chore in and of itself, I decided to make my shopping trip as stress free as possible. I dropped Eep off at preschool and headed to my local Target all by myself. With my Starbucks coffee in hand, I headed over to the swimsuit section. I have to say I was immediately impressed by the huge selection. There is literally something for everyone…one-pieces, bikinis, tankinis and even monokinins! But the best part is that you can mix and match tops and bottoms so you can choose from itsy bitsy cheeky bottoms, fuller coverage hipster bottoms, or boy shorts. There were also some really cute little skirt bottoms – not the kind your grandma would wear, but skirts with cute little side ruching and even crochet styles. As for tops, they had bandeau, push-up, bralette, flounce, tankini and your classic triangle string bikini tops. So after grabbing at least thirty different swimsuits, I headed into the dressing room. I was so thankful that the woman working in the dressing rooms allowed me to bring them all in at once so I didn’t have to change and switch out suits! By the way, if online shopping is more your speed, Target offers free shipping & returns so you can order and try on as many suits as you like in the comfort of your own home with no worries!

To my surprise, I ended up falling in love with several swimsuits and actually had a hard time coming home with just these! Now that I have three cute new swimsuits, I can’t wait to go camping on the beach and splash in the waves! I might even join in on the fun at the waterpark this year! What summertime swim activities are you looking forward to? Join me and take the #nofomo pledge and share how you will be rocking your swimsuit this Summer!

LAGOS Caviar Bracelet

Have you guys ever heard of a “Capsule Wardrobe”? I hadn’t either. Apparently it is a collection of essential clothing that includes just that…the essentials. As in classic pieces that don’t ever go out of style that you can update with seasonal pieces. I kind of feel like that is what I have done recently when it comes to my jewelry collection! For a while there I was really into big costume jewelry but lately I’ve been reaching for my “classic” pieces. You might remember my LAGOS Gold Beaded Infinity Ring that I shared with you guys a few months back (see the post here). It is my absolute favorite ring I own besides my wedding rings…obviously! But I literally get compliments on it every time I wear it. And now I finally have the matching LAGOS Signature Caviar Beaded Bracelet to go along with it. As I mentioned with the ring, it is silver and gold so you can mix and match your metals which I love. I also really appreciate that the bracelet is available in different sizes. I have teeny tiny wrists so most bracelets are too big for me, but the small fits just perfect! LAGOS already curated a fabulous Valentine’s Day gift guide, but I thought I would share my personal faves below as well (hint, hint hubby!):
