Swirl Boutique KimonoSwirl Boutique Kimono Swirl Boutique Kimono Swirl Boutique Kimono

I’ve acquired quite the selection of kimono’s over the last couple of years. But I think this one might just be my fave. I can’t get enough of black & white and the fringe makes it a perfect piece to dress up or down! But what I really want to talk about is the first pic in this post. I’ve mentioned probably a million times that I ALWAYS shoot my pics with a flash (Gasp! I know!) but after I knew I had at least four usable pics for this post, I played with my camera settings again. This was the final pic of the day and I just loved how it turned out straight out of the camera. It’s gritty…but I love the bokeh blurred background. But then again, I love the crispness of the last pic. Which do you prefer?

Personally I’m a fan of using only natural light and my camera doesn’t even come with a flash so I’m forced to play with the ISO and shutter settings to achieve the look I want. The first pic just seems so much more natural.

The blurred background looks great! Flashes can just be so harsh.

The one w/ bokeh, by far!! Your pictures would look more natural if you used the natural light you have available – try it, it may be fun!

I love love love everything about this look. That kimono is amazing and I feel as though a hat always gives an outfit an extra little sass. Love it!
