I am a BIG fan of taking classes at the gym. But since the only time I can really go is while Eep is in school, my class options are limited. So on his off days, I usually do Carmen Electra’s “Fit to Strip” workout video at home. Don’t worry…this one has nothing to do with stripping, although some of her other videos do teach sexy dance moves! I personally think it is a pretty good workout but I get tired of doing the same thing every time. So today I perused youtube and found a Tracy Anderson workout video and gave it a whirl. It was only a half hour long and my legs were a little wobbly for the rest of the day (which is a good thing). Although I did find it a little hard to follow along since she doesn’t count along or tell you how many reps you are doing. But I’m sure you get the routine down after a few tries. Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Richie and most recently Jlo herself have been singing Tracy Anderson’s praises and we all know how AMAZING Jlo looks as of late. So I’m thinking of asking for the Tracy Anderson Method Metamorphosis series for Christmas. Have any of you guys purchased it? I’d love your feedback before I buy it! Or, do you have any other workout videos you can recommend??? Or am I one of the only people left on the planet to use workout DVD’s?

Here’s the workout I did:

PLEASE NOTE: I am not an exercise expert (or doctor) in any way shape or form so try this at your own risk!

I’ve never tried this particular workout but I do have her Mat Method DVD and her Perfect Design Series DVD – both of which are extremely HARD! I did them when I was trying to get back into shape after having my son and they definitely did the trick!

I am a big fan of the HIIT workout videos by Fitness Blender. There are a ton of them on YouTube. They are easy to follow, and they are truly a workout!

LOVEEEE Tracy! I think I have every DVD she’s ever made. When I did it religiously (pre-baby) I lost 20 pounds and my arms and legs were the smallest they’ve ever been. You’ll catch on quick to the moves so – the lack of counting wont be a big deal and you’ll actually be glad she doesn’t talk the whole time so you can enjoy music!

Thanks for sharing! I like the classes too, but could use a good DVD for home, especially during the winter months.

I want to like Tracy & try her workouts, but no one in our community (Fishers/Indianapolis) has really forgiven her for her bad business deals here years back. Anytime her name comes up, people all seem to know someone that lost A LOT of money to her (link to the background on this story: http://www.indianapolismonthly.com/features/getting-ripped-tracy-anderson/).
She’s obviously turned things around, but the stigma remains back here in her home state.
Maybe I’m using my ‘grudge’ just to avoid a hard workout, lol!
