June Birchbox

JetBlue Birchbox Mint Experience

I’ve kind of been slacking on my Birchbox reviews. Not because I don’t love them but as I mentioned previously, I’m cutting back on my blogging schedule. BUT I’ve had a couple of people mention that they look forward to them so here you go ladies! My July box is already on it’s way so I figured I better hurry and get the June box posted. It was a really good one too! Here’s what I got:

Harvey Prince “Hello” Perfume: Made with eco-friendly ingredients, this scent has all-day staying power. A top note of Meyer lemon captures the scent of fresh-squeezed lemonade, while Satsuma mandarin adds a double fruity note. Next up, summer forsythia and pink plumeria—traditionally found in Hawaiian leis—give the scent its heady floral layer. My thoughts: You guys are not going to believe this….I LOVE this perfume. In fact, now I can’t decide if I want to buy the full size of this perfume or the eye cream I had my eye on (pardon the pun…har har har) with my Birchbox points! It is fragrant but clean, light & happy. Might even be my favorite item in this box!

LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil: Unlike some glosses that simply provide a nice shine, this lip lube channels softening shea butter, which moisturizes and fills in any unsightly lines, and is infused with refreshing mint. Available in an array of wearable, softly pigmented shades. My thoughts: I wasn’t in love with the shade of this lip pencil/gloss but it did go on nice and smooth.

The Aloe Source Vitamin C Antioxidant Cream: Vitamin C helps increase natural collagen production, making skin more elastic and reducing the appearance of wrinkles—and it counteracts damaging free radicals. Botanicals like hemp seed, meadowfoam, and jojoba oils moisturize skin without leaving a greasy sheen. Aloe leaf juice smooths and softens skin. My thoughts: Vitamin C is the new retinol. Well, maybe not but it sure is all the rage! This has a nice light citrus scent and did not irritate my skin.

Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo / Conditioner / All-in-One Milk: The shampoo’s Indian fig extract moisturizes your hair while olive amphoacetate gently cleanses. Also noteworthy: the softening olive oil peg-7 ester and strengthening rice proteins. / A targeted combo of silicone-infused moisturizers works to gently whip your hair into shape. Borage seed oil protects against breakage while rice wax helps prevent parched strands. / Packed with rich roucou oil, this cream supports hair growth and protects it from harmful UV radiation. Ellagic acid fights off free radicals and cell damage. For added moisture, provitamin B5 and a functional amino complex condition strands and keep them soft and supple during heat styling while preventing unwanted frizz. My thoughts: I love Davines Love products. I’ve used these before and was pretty excited at the generous trial size of the shampoo. These will all definitely get used.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit: This creamy cleanser contains moisturizing cocoa butter, and two of nature’s best astringents: eucalyptus essential oil and rosemary. These plant oils lift dirt off the skin’s surface without disrupting the natural barrier function. The 100 percent cotton muslin cloth gently exfoliates without irritation, even for the most sensitive complexions. My thoughts: I’m currently using a new face wash (review coming soon!) so I haven’t tried this yet but I am excited to use the muslin cloth!

Birchbox also announced a new partnership with JetBlue…so whenever you fly their “mint” experience, you get a complimentary amenity kit curated by Birchbox. Jetblue was the ONLY airline I would fly when I was living in NYC. I haven’t flown with them in a few years but this new level of service sounds wonderful! You can read more about it here.

I adore lip pencils but I dislike the word “lube”. It’s just one of those words where I’m like ewwww.
