OOTD: Brunch

Anthropologie Mahdia Peasant Top

Free People Vegan Clutch

High-Waters

Floral Peasant Top

I’m not sure if I’m feeling these jeans or not. I like the dark wash but they are that awkward length…too long for flats and too short for heels. I wore them with non-platform wedges and thought they looked fine and then of course AFTER I went to brunch and came home to snap a few pics for the blog, I realized…um, hi high-waters. Ugh. The camera never lies.

P.S. I’ve worn them before here and they didn’t look quite as high-water-ish?!?

I hate it when that happens! I took a pair to my tailor that was similar to these and she was able to let out an inch at the bottom & put in a false hem, which made them just right. Worth a try! 🙂

I feel like the too long/too short thing is always a problem with trouser style jeans. I have an awesome pair from Gap that I love the colour and cut of but I cannot for the life of me find shoes that really truly work with them.

I must be looking at different pictures than you are because I don’t think these look “high-waterish” at all. Not like your ankles are showing or anything. Maybe the difference to you is that your shoes are more open and the last post you had a closed toe shoe that didn’t expose any of your feet. But all in all, they look just fine to me.

I actually think that these jeans hit right where they should–at the top of the foot. I see pics of actresses in pants that completely cover the shoe, and that look ridiculous. The very young, hipster crowd may wear their pants dragging on the sidewalk, but that is not a look that a stylish, sophisticated woman should wish to emulate. I think you worked this look very well!!

Love the look, I agree it can be difficult to find appropriate shoes to wear with trouser cut jeans. I have long legs, but a lot of times the long inseam is way to long and the regular is to short. I agree with a previous poster, try taking them to a tailor to lengthen them just a bit.

I don’t see them as too short…looks fine from here. Too long looks odd, but that’s just me.
