Best Eye Creams

I recently got an email request from a reader asking for some of my favorite anti-aging products. In the last two years, I think all of my bad eating & sleeping habits have finally caught up with me. My eyes are really starting to show their age. Between drooping eyelids and crepey under eye skin, I am ALWAYS on the lookout for the best new eye treatments. So far the only thing that REALLY gets rid of all of the wrinkles is good lighting & my iphoto retouch button. But these are some of the products I’ve had the best results with:

Garnier Skincare Ultra-lift Anti-wrinkle Eye Roller ($9.75 for 0.5 fl oz): Instantly: skin feels smoother and firmer. 2 weeks: crow’s feet and fine lines are visibly reduced. With Continued Use: wrinkles and crow’s feet are smoothed; skin around the eye area feels firmer. WHY I LOVE IT: For > $10, the cold roller ball alone makes it worth every penny. The refreshing cool blast to my eyes  makes them feel less puffy too.

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream ($18.00 for a 0.5oz jar): Hyaluronic Acid formula helps lock in the skin’s own natural moisture without the use of heavy, greasy oils. Absorbent, medium weight cream for use day or night. Aloe based formula makes this cream suitable for all skin types, even sensitive. WHY I LOVE IT: I really like the weight of this cream…not thick or greasy and my makeup goes on flawless after using it. Very moisturizing.

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream ($21.99 for a 0.5oz tube): Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair® Eye Cream works quickly with visible results in just one week! By combining a unique combination of Retinol SA, Glucose Complex, and Hyaluronic Acid, Rapid Wrinkle Repair® Eye Cream moisturizes and renews the look of skin throughout the day. WHY I LOVE IT: I currently use tretinoin (prescription retin-a) but this is as close as you can get to a prescription level eye cream IMHO. It didn’t irritate my sensitive skin either.

Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream ($34 for a 0.5oz jar): it’s potent! eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts and loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage. WHY I LOVE IT: This goes on smoothly and does not interfere with my makeup application. Definitely brightened my eyes too which helps hide dark circles.

StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles ($65 for a 1 fl oz tube): Strivectin powered up the original SD Eye with more efficacious peptides, eye brighteners and soft focus light diffusers. And Strivectin re-engineered the formula with NIA-114, discovered in DNA skin cancer research to accelerate the rebuilding of skin layers. Proven in Clinical Trials. And in Your Mirror. Strivectin’s research was conducted under rigorous scientific standards. The result? Multiple patents, proven and documented in years of clinical trials. But the only results that matter to Strivectin are yours. Try Strivectin. You’ll see the future of anti-aging: healthy-looking, younger-looking skin. And skin that gets better and better. Fragrance-Free, Paraben-Free, Non-Comedogenic. WHY I LOVE IT: I definitely noticed (as did my husband) an improvement in my under eye discoloration with this product. A great mid-price product.

La Prairie Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex ($135 for a 0.5oz jar): One drop is all it takes. Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex is like a mini eyelift. A lightweight, rapidly penetrating gel, it firms, nourishes and re-energizes the eye zone. Tone and texture improve. Fine lines and wrinkles fade away. The delicate skin around the eyes is hydrated and brightened, as signs of stress and fatigue melt away and imperfections are erased. Also acts as a primer so eye makeup stays on like a dream. WHY I LOVE IT: I just received a sample of this in my Glossybox and am very impressed. My eyes instantly feel tight & smooth. A little bit really does go a long way!

La Mer The Eye Concentrate ($185 for a 0.5oz jar): A deeply conditioning cream formulated with hematite, a magnetically-charged mineral, to help dramatically dissolve the appearance of dark circles, surface discolorations and unevenness. The look of lines and wrinkles is softened. Over time, a visibly healthier, smoother and more luminous look is revealed. WHY I LOVE IT: I’m sorry to have to say this but La Mer products really are as good as they say they are. I was almost hoping I wouldn’t love this since it is WAY more than I’d like to spend on an eye cream. Although I’m pretty sure this jar will last at least 5-6 months which makes me feel better about the price. But I really do feel like I’ve seen the most improvement in both the dark circles AND fine lines with this cream. It softens my wrinkles AND moisturizes.

I alternate between it’s potent! and the Mario Badescu. I like how it’s potent! really helps take care of the dark circles, but am not sure I’m entirely in love with it. I’ve really been thinking about trying the La Mer, and I really like your review of it; I’ve (my wallet has) been afraid it really works lol!

I really want to try that Garnier stick and I know what you mean about La Mer and even La Prarie. When products really do work, it makes such a difference and I look at it as less than a daily coffee to make my skin feel better because they do really last 4-5 months so that makes it worth it to me. I used the Cavier drops by La Prarie right before my wedding and that’s such good idea to use as a primer! My nightly routine is the Clarisonic, La Prairie – then I sleep on my Savvy Sleepers satin pillow case as the last step. lol So much work with anti-aging. 😉
