Waterfall Cardigan

Last night while I was watching (and live-tweeting) the Grammy’s, a tweet came through from @whowhatwear that said “20 trends we’re totally over-and you should be too“. So of course I immediately clicked and forgot I was even watching the Grammys. First up was “cut out shoulder tops”…ok I’m good there. Next up was “sock buns”…ok…never did that either…and my hair is too short now anyway. And then I saw “designer puns” and “peplum tops” followed by “2012 called-it wants it’s done-to-death look back”. OUCH…ha ha! I haven’t worn either in at least 6 months but I still have both in my closet and could have totally been guilty of wearing either any day now. Also included was “waterfall cardigans” which I just so happened to wear this weekend so I guess I’ll be throwing this vest in the trash now. Joking…of course.

P.S. I will, however, be adding my bubble necklaces & that holographic clutch that I bought and never used to my Poshmark closet soon. Don’t all rush at once to snag ’em. =)

I cringed a little when I read that post too – I have peplum tops, waterfall cardigans & infinity scarves in my closet…aagh! I quickly “donated” 2 of my peplum tops to my daughter and will have to PoshMark the rest later. That was one trend that I may have invested in a bit too heavily 🙁

I could never wear peplum tops (not at all flattering for my shape) but I still like the waterfall cardigans. Trend are trends, but if you find one that works for you, it becomes a staple.

I did not enjoy that article by whowhatwear. There were still several of the items in that post that I still think look great on people. I do not think there is any one set way to be ‘in style’ and I do not think anyone should be a slave to what someone says is in or out. Wear what looks good on you, it’s all about your own personal style.

ha! I have a few of those items (hello cut out shoulders) and I just learned how to do a sock bun. but mine doesn’t ever look like that so I think I’m good. I do however have a wedge sneaker (nike dunk) that I will NOT be giving up. They are comfy as all get out and still make me look tall.
These lists always crack me up.

Unfortunately…I’m still loving some of those trends that they’re “kicking out”. Designer puns – they’re HILARIOUS! And they’re usually very cozy teeshirts. Infinity scarves? I can’t live without mine in Chi-beria over here. Snapback hats and shredded tops I can live without (in fact, I never lived with ’em!)

You still look amazing knowing what you personally look and feel good in! If you look good in waterfall cardigans, wear them girl!
