Jcrew Colorblock Blouse

Kate Spade Roadtrip License Plate Clutch

Jcrew chino shorts

I bought these wedges last summer and didn’t get to wear them quite as much as I’d hoped. So I was pretty excited when I realized how well they matched this colorblocked blouse. The last time I wore them, it was with a cobalt hi-low dress (seen here). Speaking of hi-low (or mullet) dresses…what are your thoughts on them? I thought they were played out…and then Kelly Osborne kind of confirmed it for me when she said she disliked them at the Lucky Fabb conference back in April. But I keep seeing them everywhere. And I have a really beautiful nude pleated Grecian looking hi-low dress that I was considering having the hem chopped on since I never got around to wearing it. Now I’m not sure! What are your thought on the hi-low hemline? Yay or nay?

First of all, I am obsessed with this shirt and SO sad I didn’t buy one before they sold out!

Second, I’m kinda on the fence about hi-low dresses too…let me know what you decide and I will follow your lead 🙂

Nay to hi-low hemlines. That was a short-lived trend, and one that I’m glad I didn’t spend too much money buying into. I have a feeling it’s also one of those trends that we will look back on one day and shake our heads that we ever wore it to begin with. 🙂

The few hi-low dresses that I have were short lived with the exception of a fun floral printed maxi dress that was a surf shop find. I love the hi-lo maxi because it is an easy go to for a simple dinner date. I’m a bit over the just below the knee style, but being able to dress it down or up is a plus!

Of the 10 or so hi-low dresses I’ve seen on others, I’ve thought “wow” on two, but I can’t put my finger on why they just don’t work on everyone. Maybe because the hem style is such a strong statement, the looks that fail are not balanced by another strong piece, like a statement necklace, or knock-out shoes. Hmmmm. I do want to try one though.

The wedges are gorgeous! I still can’t bring myself to wear a hi-lo dress! But I think they are fabulous in everyone else!

I have a high low dress that I wear with leggings underneath & a denim jacket on top! I love it dressed down like it!

I love this look and those wedges are stunning. I love that colour green.
I am not a fan of the mullet hemlines…. they look terrible on me!

I love this shirt and this clutch. The clutch is very unexpected with this outfit, but it looks great!!

PS. I’m not sure how I feel about the high-low dresses either. Sometimes I think they are cute, then other times I think they look terrible on people. I think it all depends how much high-low is going on. The less difference in length looks better. Or perhaps have the high part not as short. Make sense? haha
