Well, it’s day two of trying to figure out my camera. And I still just don’t see THAT much of a difference to justify the price of this lens! Once again the first pic is my fave but I went with my signature formula of sun directly behind me…with a flash. I just think it gives me the most flattering lighting (minus the flyaway hairs)! Am I crazy?!? Wait….don’t answer that. =) But I createdย  a photography board on Pinterest so now I just need to make the time to read through some of the tutorials. The pic below was taken with my old lens by my dad. It was the only one that wasn’t blurry. I added a little cross process on Picmonkey for fun. OK, enough complaining about my pics. It was actually a fabulous Mother’s Day. We went to lunch at one of my fave mexican restaurants, then we spent the rest of the day playing outside in the GORGEOUS weather (it was 90+ at our house) and finished the day off with cold stone ice cream.

Love that dress! I almost bought it when I was in the store last week, but it looks SO much better on you than it did on me. ๐Ÿ™‚

I actually think the 2nd picture looks the best/clearest. You really should try shooting in a shady place, where both you & the camera are in the shade…or on a cloudy day…just to see the difference. We literally never use the flash for my photos.

It’s because we are bloggers, not photographers..oh wait. that means we have to be both? Yeah…I forgot. I hate that I have a limited photograph skill set… haha.
    Love your bohemian dress, lady.

hehe I am also still learning how to make my camera work for me. Sometimes I get fed up with settings and resort to my iphone…

As a photographer I can totally see the difference in the new lens and think it looks fabulous! Standing in the edge of the shade with your face to the light and all shade behind you is super flattering light — if you want you skin to look super fab just over expose a little and it’ll look super smooth. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d read a few of those pinned tutorials before returning the lens, with a bit more info about it you might really love it!

Figuring out cameras is so hard! I can already tell a huge difference in your pictures. The lighting in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th one are perfect and the focus is on you. You are doing good!! I’m worried about buying a 50mm because I always shoot with a 5.6 fstop and I think my pictures with a 3.0 look so odd for some reason. But i look at people’s pictures that are taken at 1.8 and they look awesome. I have a LOT to learn!!

    Love the dress, so cute!!
I always shoot with the sun at my back, but I don’t typically use the flash to fill, I tend to just over expose and let the background get blown out. What lens did you buy?
