heat protectant

i am sure you guys have all seen this video by now. if not…gasp, right?!?! i am acutely aware now of how long i hold my clip-less curling iron on my hair. what freaks me out is that i probably would hold each curl for close to 20 seconds myself since my hair does not hold a curl well if it is clean (2nd day hair always holds better for me). and i usually curl my hair at least every other day. thankfully in the last year i have purchased a few heat protectors that i love so i thought i would share them with you. i always use at least one of them but on occasion, i have even used all three at once! each one has a completely different texture so you can pick what works for you. oh, and each one leaves your hair silky soft. i highly recommend any one of them.

1. kerastase ciment thermique: this one is a leave-in cream that is heat-activated and reconstructs damaged brittle hair.

2. nexxus pro-mend heat protection spray: this one is a spray that helps protect hair from breakage due to heat styling tools of up to 450 degrees. btw, i have my straightener set at 390 and my curling iron automatically heats to 410 degrees.

3. amika heat defense serum: this is my newest heat defense product and it is also has an anti-frizz agent in it which is an added plus. this one is more of a serum/oil (similar to moroccon oil but i like it better) that protects from blow drying and heat styling. plus it has that same delicious smell that all amika products have.

I am terrified of all my heat styling products now. I use the Kerastase Cement Thermique too so hopefully we are safe!

….but can someone tell me WHY that happened to that poor girl?? Other than not using heat protectant..which we aren’t even sure she didn’t?

For real…I may never curl my hair again! I’m terrified!

omg…i know! i am dying to know the brand of the curling iron!!! and if her hair was still wet…what products, etc. she did not answer any of those questions when she was on ellen (yes, this video got her on the ellen show)! i’m definitely more cautious now.
