i’m wearing: kirna zabete for target tweed & faux leather dress, topshop clear cap toe pointy flats, f21 wrap bracelet, michael kors watch and my kooba kristen tote.

i went to my local target store the day the kirna zabete for target collection debuted specifically for this dress. i ended up coming home with this lace top and this clutch (last seen here) as well. i agree with the reviews that it does run VERY short (even for my taste). it does have enough of a hem that it can probably be tailored to give it an extra inch or two which will make it much more wearable with tights and maybe the lace top underneath for fall/winter. i have to admit that this was a total impulse buy and i am having a bit of buyers remorse. maybe i can have it made into a shell/top? or add a lace/faux leather panel to the bottom? or maybe it will sit in the back of my closet unworn until i ever get it together and have a blog sale again…hhhmmm.

I saw this dress in my store too and LOVED it, but the length made it completely unwearable for me. I would say that if you think you’ll wear it alot, it might be worth taking to the tailor and having them add a false hem to give you a little extra (if there’s enough seam allowance)…listen to me – clearly I know way too much about alterations. LOL! πŸ™‚

Actually, I think this looks great; none of that collection fit me quite right, but you’re totally pulling it off (length included) here.! I know what you mean, though – for the realities of life chasing a toddler around, an extra inch would be great.

(Also, hi – found your blog via a Facebook friend and adore what you’re doing here. Keep up the chic mama work.)

This is such a cute dress, it’s a shame about the length! I’m 5’10” and I have that problem all of the time. I think it would look amazing it you chopped off the bottom and made it into a top. You could even use the tweed from the bottom to make into a little clutch! That would look amazing and both pieces would be super usable for this season and years to come.
Let us know what you do!

I saw this online, but couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger for some reason! Love it on you! I’m already very leggy so I’m sure it would look entirely too short on me!
