i’m wearing: tie dye ruffle maxi dress c/o LAmade (also available in lilac/blue here and in yellow/taupe here), h&m gold bangles, minnetonka fringe bag c/o indian village mall and MIA gladiator sandals (not shown).

i can now officially say that LAmade is one of my new favorite brands. i am seriously in love with their t-shirt material (soft as can be) dresses. click here to see the short blue tie dye dress i wore recently. and i’m totally going to grab one or two of these off the shoulder dresses that are now on sale for only $36!

on another note…moms…i NEED your help. eep has seriously turned into THE terrible two monster overnight. i’m talking full-fledged temper tantrums…SEVERAL times a day. and it’s not even because he didn’t get his way or because he wants anything in particular. i’m thinking it *might* have something to do with his final molars coming in as well. at least he is still sleeping great and napping thank goodness. my little angel who used to be my best shopping buddy now screams as soon as i try to put him in a cart and his FAVORITE word is no. WHEN will my little angel baby come back? please tell me it gets better. PLEASE.

Love this dress – it does look so easy to throw on, but looks amazing on you! As for eep, my daughter went through this same thing around 2 and a half. It could be the teeth…is he sleeping well (through the night & taking good naps)? I found with Lauren that if she didn’t get enough sleep, the tantrums were 10 times worse. Also, I learned that you can’t reason with them while they’re throwing their fit. We would just put her in her room (or in her crib) until she worked through it and we made it clear that she couldn’t come out until she was in control of her emotions. It does get better, but it may take a while. 🙁 I’m so sorry hun – I know how stressful that is, especially when you want to take them places. Write me anytime you need to talk or if you have more questions…this too shall pass!!

P.S. Sorry about your little man!! I always heard about the ‘terrible twos’ but once my son hit 3, I realized that terrible twos was a joke. It should be the terrible threes…He will get better. I think they just go through a stage where ‘no’ is their favorite word.

You have to keep your cool! No matter what! Do not let him see you are getting fristrated as hard as that can be! Sleep is very important at this time! Lot’s of it! Other than that, kneel down on his level and tell him his behavior is not acceptable and put him in his bed until he works through HIS frustration! Cause that is what it is! He is tired, can’t communicate something or in pain from molars! Or simply doesn’t know what to do with his emotions/feelings. Shower with him love, hugs and kisses but make it clear it is not ok to behave that way! I have a very strong willed 1 year old on my hands and it is easier said then done…..

Well, you look fab in your easy summer dress despite being tested by a two year old. I agree with earlier commenters, keep cool, ride out the stormy tantrums. Your shopping companion may only be able to shadow you foe one quick trip now. Tantrums are acts of frustration from your “angel”. With limited language their only way to communicate is to let all systems go off in alarm mode. I found it was best to agree with them saying, “I know, your not feeling happy, but you are ok,” while staying calm and carrying on. This stage will pass.

love the dress! anything made of t-shirt like material is a friend of mine!
it does get better. I have a 10 and 6 month old and we had terrible 2.5 – 3’s.
We just let her fuss (if at home) until she calmed down and the tantrums subsided after awhile. the NO part was still a favorite word for some time but thats just their way of expressing independence.
    this too shall pass.

I’ve seen that brand a lot lately I’ll have to check it out.

I’m not a mom but I’m the oldest of 8 grandkids. My youngest cousin was late going through that stage. She’s 4 and is now starting to get a little bratty. Then again my 18 year old cousin never really left that stage! Haha. Hope you get through it I’m sure boys are easier than girls!

Right there with you on what you are experiencing with your son. One of the other big things we are dealing with is throwing. But I have been learning that distraction or redirection is important, as well as sleep and food in the belly. And if there is a tantrum at home sometimes I just ignore it, as long as he isn’t going to get himself hurt. He eventually moves on…In regards to shopping, my little guy starts to throw a fit and want to stand up but I am learning that the best thing to do is sit him back down, strap him in as tight as possible without being too tight and make sure he understands he has to stay there and that is final. Finding something in the store for them to play with for the time being can help, as well as snacks, talking to him and making things as fun as you can while still getting what you need done. Good luck!!

Hi Jenn. This dress is so cute on you! I’ve been browsing LAmade for the past few months but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make a purchase. (Being a college student, some of their things are a little on the pricey side). However, everything you’ve worn lately is amazing looking. And your reviews are super! So I’m thinking I might take the plunge 🙂

I promise you it will get better. From the time my son was 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 – those were times that we could not go out at all even to dinner. He didn’t have any tantrums but just did not know how to listen. It drove me nuts. To this day, I can not take him shopping (he’s 4) because he only wants to go to the Lego and Disney store and will keep asking when I am at my store.

    Good luck!
