if you follow me on instagram, then you may have already seen these photos. my mom brought over a big envelope of old photos and i just had to share with you. it’s kind of scary how fast the years have gone by. but mostly i’m just upset that my hair is too grey now to ever dye it dark again. ha ha!

this is me in 1987. look at those bangs and that naturally blonde hair! i remember i loved that sweatshirt. when is the ankle bracelet going to come back in style?

this pic was taken in 1990 or 1991. believe it or not, i was a cheerleader for one year while i attended a private school. i absolutely LOVED it.

this was taken the same year (90-91). i’m pretty sure i used a LOT of sun-in to get my spiral perm such a nice shade of yellow-ish orange. please tell me that sun-in is no longer around!?!? perm+sun-in = biggest mistake ever.

i’m guessing i was about 22 years old in this pic. i used to dye my hair dark brown…even went jet black once. sorry about the vacuum and un-matching pics in the background…it was the best pic i could find of me with dark hair!

what hair styles were you happy to have left in the past? i always swore that if i ever had a daughter, i would NEVER let her perm her hair. and now i have a son with the most adorable curls i have ever seen. i may never let him cut his off.  =)

I LOVE these old pictures!! The one of you in ’91, reminds me of my high school hair. We called it “top ramen” hair. My girlfriends and I all had the exact same spiral curled hair & it was worn crunchy, thanks to Aussie Sprunch Spray. Oh, I hope that hair never comes back!!

I love old pictures and these are absolutely adorable. I can relate with the perm! I have EXTREMELY thick ridiculous hair and I was in about 6th grade when on e of my friends got a perm so I begged and begged and BEGGED my mom (an ex-hair stylist) to let me get a perm. She finally caved and said “you’ll hate it but its your choice.” well, I hated it and the entire 6th grade year my nickname was “poodle”. Very traumatic.

Sun-in….oh the lovely orange hue. I think everyone I know used it at one point and we all came out with different shades of orange. At the time though, we thought we were fabulous.

I love the dark hair, very pretty.

I could tell all of those photos where you until the dark hair. The dark hair made you look like totally different person.

My mom for some reason let me do the bowl cut. I still ask her to this day why did you let me do that. Her reply ” You wanted it”. My reply “does not make it right should have told me NO”

This is such a fun post! My hair was permed in middle school. I had big bangs. Ugh.

I always guessed you were a cheerleader! I am not really sure what it was, but I really thought you had those pom pom days! OK so you ready for this? Sun in is still available! It still targets the age group that you were in when you used it, not as popular as it was when we were younger but it is still around! Love these photos, thank you for sharing.

I am pretty sure I have a picture somewhere that is nearly identical to your cheerleading one (same colors and everything). Loving your dark hair! I am pretty sure 80s hair is the style that should NEVER return.

Sometimes I’m so thankful I was born in the mid 80s so I missed out on all of that hairspray. You look great as a brunette but I love you as a blondie 🙂

Ah this is so cute!! You looked so different with dark hair! For me, with my curly hair I am very happy to have lift a fringe (in the US ‘bangs’) in the past. Mine used to stick out a mile and this was before the invention of straighteners. Eek!
