this post is for lori who emailed me asking me about my hair care routine. before i even get started here, i have to say i have NEVER been known as the girl with good hair. so THANK YOU so much you guys for the compliments. i am ALWAYS shocked when someone says i have nice hair because i SWEAR it looks better in pictures than it does in real life. but i do have to give a shout out to my friend and hair stylist (alisa) who works at bombshell salon in encinitas. i get my hair highlighted every 7 weeks. it used to be every 6 weeks but she forced me to wait 7 weeks so she had more re-growth to work with. i would go every 5 weeks if she let me! oh, and i get my hair cut every other hair appointment. here are the products i use daily:

1. redken all soft shampoo & conditioner: my everyday shampoo & condition is “all soft” by redken. i switched to it probably about five years ago after i decided it was sorta ridiculous to spend close to $40/bottle for kerastase. i got really lucky when i tried the redken because i LOVED it right away. it leaves my hair feeling super soft and NOT weighed down at all.

2. infusium23 leave-in treatment: i have been using infusium23 leave-in spray since high school. i am not even joking. as soon as i get out of the shower, i spray my whole head with it and brush with a paddle brush.

3. bed head ego boost: then i immediately follow up with bed head’s ego boost leave-in conditioner. this is another product that i have been using for AGES. it just makes my hair easy to manage and supposedly it mends dead ends. it says it can be used on wet or dry hair but i can not imagine putting it on dry hair?!? i always put it on while my hair is still wet.

4. pureology hydracure intense moisture hair masque: then every few days i use pureology hydracure intense moisture hair masque. this is like the MOST AMAZING hair treatment ever. it is HANDS DOWN…THE BEST deep conditioner i have ever used.

let me know if you guys have any questions. i’d love to hear what your fave haircare products are!!!

totally interesting. I have the bed head ego boost at home but haven´t tried it out yet. Now I definitely will. Thanks for sharing 😀

Love hearing about what products everyone else uses – I love the Pureology brand, but have started to experiment with others because it’s so expensive!

I LOVE hair care products and the best shampoo and conditioner I have tried is a newer one called Rahua. It’s so natural you could almost eat it. They also have a finishing cream that makes the ends of your hair feel like a soft blush brush. My hair has never been this healthy and even my color looks better.

Oh man, I have that hydra cure stuff and I never knew what it was! I got a sample of it and wasn’t sure what to do with it. Good to know now!

I never use leave in treatments and you use two! Maybe that is why my hair is falling out and looks like straw and your hair looks great. I don’t even get my hair colored so you would think it would look healthier than it does.

Finding out about leave in conditioners was a fabulous thing for me as I swear they transformed my hair from frizzy mess to being a bit sleeker and more manageable. Your hair always looks fabulous, I think many of us will be taking copious notes from this post!

I’m a big fan of Redken products! I’ve tried the “all soft” before but I use the color extend and recently tried the color extend “after sun” (which I like even better!). I also use their “satinwear” blow-dry lotion regularly which has made a big difference for me! I love hearing about what products people are talking about so thanks for sharing!

Oh, you’re the best!! I so appreciate you doing this post to answer my question. I’ve recently gone back to Redken. I’ve used All Soft in the past, but currently I’m trying out the Color Extend. I’ve been using Infusium since high school and love it. My stylist highly recommends Pureology, but it’s so pricey! I will certainly give the hair masque a try. I’m a born and raised Southern CA girl. Our family moved to TX 3 years ago and I’m constantly googling “humidity proof, humectant, etc.” to try new products. You have fabulous looking hair. Thanks again for the post. I love your blog!

I have the infusium leave-in conditioner and have not been able to figure out how to use it. LOL Do you just transfer it into a spray bottle? The top it comes with is odd for its consistency.

hi ashley! infusium used to sell smaller spray bottles (and you can sometimes find them online) so when i saw them available at drugstore.com, i bought two. so now i just refill them with my big bottle of the leave-in conditioner. i also used to just use a random spray bottle. =)
