i have not purchased a bathing suit in YEARS. seriously…the last time i bought one was about 5 years ago. and it was only because i was going to hawaii and NEEDED one. even though i am a born and raised southern ca girl, i have never liked being in a bathing suit. i’m not really a fan of the beach either. i mean, i like to look at it…but i won’t go in the ocean (except for the sectioned off part that’s almost like a kiddie pool in honolulu). BUT…now that i have a toddler, i like taking him to the beach. so i thought maybe i would get my first one piece bathing suit. um, the vision i had of myself all glamorous in a one piece and floppy hat was shattered as soon as i got in a fitting room. sadly, one pieces do not do me any favors. my husband will be ecstatic. he was not as excited for my new one piece as i was. lol.

Aww, I know the feeling! I do have a bikini I wear from time to time, but I also found an amazing neon green La Blanca tankini last year at TJ Maxx that has a retro feel to it and it’s the most flattering one piece I’ve ever tried on! Did you try tankini’s too?

Great choices! My Hubby actually thinks a one piece is sexier. Yay me! 😉

oh i am dreading wearing a swim suit this year. I’ve put on a few pounds over the winter and with my body type you see every single one. I’ve considered a one piece but they are not flattering on me at all!

So what did you decide to get? A two piece? I’m in search of the perfect swim suit too since my kids LOVE the pool….and have had the hardest time!

I’m also needing a new suit. I can’t wear a 2 piece anymore. Too much baby flab. You don’t seem to have that problem!! Lucky! I am in search of a flattering 1 piece. Good luck finding your new bathing suit!

I love these suits. I am going to need to shop for a one piece I think. I went to Target the other day and tried on bikinis and almost cried. I have two little boys…I bounced back from my first baby with no problem but after the second…not so much. My tummy is so stretched out and I look horrible. It really is discouraging! I wonder how women have multiple children and still are able to wear bikinis without saggy bellies? UGH.

You have an amazing body…I would think you could definitely pull off some version of a bikini. What about a tankini?

I hate going swimsuit shopping. I have to purchase a new suit this year because the one I have had for years is too big. I would love to be able to do one pieces but my long torso has major issues with them. It is a bikini or tankini for me.

I hate the beach too, and it’s sad because we live 5 minutes away, I don’t like sand. But i do love those suits!

As a mother of 3 I feel your pain! And we live down the road from the beach. Because I go so often I don’t think about it anymore, well maybe the first couple of times each season. I would rather a one piece now chasing after the kids rather than worrying about losing my top or… bottoms. I bought a couple Land’s End one piece on clearance over the winter. They look better on me then my old black & white standby. lol Even my husband liked them and he doesn’t seem to notice anything I wear. This one looks cute! http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=64&pageId=1&productId=570046079&viewAll=true&prd=Ruffled+OneShoulder+OnePiece&subCatId=&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=3&catId=cat6029283&cat=Swim&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size=

I don’t care how confident she is… any woman that says she enjoys shopping for bathing suits… LIAR!

    BTW… you’re a “hot mom”… go for the 2-piece!

It’s hard sometimes to find the perfect swimsuit, but when you do it’s always worthwhile. I just bought a couple new ones that will last a long time. Now, to just find more places to wear them. lol. The Ted Baker style is stunning.

My favorites are the white and the navy and white stripe. After two kids, I need to break down and buy a nice one piece. I’m still wearing the cheapo maternity-ish target and jcp suits 🙂
