i’m wearing: thrifted free people skirt, white express tank (SO old), jcrew chambray shirt, american eagle braided belt, jessica simpson wedges (similar), f21 neon necklace, kate spade halsey sunglasses and my michael kors watch.

after having WAY too many gloomy overcast days in a row, we FINALLY had some nice weather this weekend! btw, i’m thinking i may have to start wearing my sunglasses in more posts…it sure does cut down on my editing time! lol. i know i told you guys i totally changed my skincare and makeup routine and now that i’m a few weeks in, i’m not sure i’m in love with either. i don’t know if it is my new face lotion or my new foundation, but my face looks great at first and then i get oily by mid-morning. so then i am grabbing for my old powder and putting it on over the foundation. i am so confused. i think i am going to have to go back to the makeup counter. i thought i wanted a dewy foundation (which chanel vitalumiere aqua is) but now i just look oily! and i use the pressed translucent powder over it to set it. help! what am i doing wrong? thanks in advance!

Start using Epiduo! Am I sounding like a broken record yet? I am kind of the same way with my combination skin and will get a little shiny around lunchtime, but the using Epiduo just twice a week really helps cut down the oil a bit. Also, you have to order that matte powder from Arbonne – it’s a lifesaver! 🙂

I’m having the same issue which I just noticed recently – I heard I need to go to a matte primer. I have combination skin but my t-zone is all of a sudden super shiny – not oily though. Just shiny. WITT? If you find something that work, let me know. I might have to give Arbonne a try – I’ve heard great things and if Kimberly uses it, well…

First-love this outfit! Perfect for spring and warm weather!
Second- I am the same way with my face! I’m fine when I put my makeup on but then a few hours later I feel like a greasy mess! I started using new lotions and foundations as well to see if it would help and it just got worse. To find the cause I stopped the lotion and continued with the new foundation. I’m not as oily but it’s still not perfect. I find that certain powders also make it worse. My suggestion, stop one of the new products to see if its the reason why you are more oily, then continue from there. Weather also is a big contributor to the oil. When I spend more time outside my face is very oily- so I tend to go sans foundation in the summer, with just a tinted powder and I’m fine. Sorry I’m not much help! But if PPF’s powder helps you-let me know! 🙂

I’ve been helping people with foundation for years, I’m not familiar with the foundation you listed I”m sure its a great one but I have no tips on it. If you want “dewy” skin but not to look oily , try a good mostuirzer for your skin type, I”m guessing combo? and then you can try a liquid foundation for more oily skin. I use and sell Mary Kay, have for years they have a great time wise moisturizer for combo to oily skin or a new botanical line for diffrent skin types. Also an anti ageing foundation for both normal to dry(more shiney) or for combo to oily( it has oil absorbers built in!!) Also if you like mineral powder, use a better moistuizer like I said above and just stick with what you like, no harm in that! I’m sure there are lots of good brands out there that could fit that bill, obviously I’m a bit biased after years of use and helping others all the products I mentioned are at my website http://www.marykay.com/erinwhitneysmith shippings free. I hope that helps , I just couldn’t resist writing back because I’ve talked foundation with soooo many women, ha ha.

Bobbi Brown have amazing foundations. They have one that is oil free that might work for you?

I know what you mean about the sunnies lol!

First of all, that swag bag in your last post was out of this world! I love the outfit, I thought you had on a dress until I read the caption in the last photo. I have issues with shine as well. I would say the Nars Pro-Prime Primer with SPF is my best defense against shine. It does a great job and I also use the 15 hour long wear Smashbox Studio foundation, and top it off with the Dual Finish Lancome powder. If you are wondering what is my AM skin routine, I wash my face with Loreal 360 go deep clean, tone with clinique clarifying lotion 1, I apply clinique all about eyes roll on serum and eye cream, finally I use Clarins bright plus serum & moisturizer.

Love the combination,….esp. the chambray. BTW, why don’t u let your face just breathe for awhile then go back to your old routine. Good luck!

I’ve been wearing my sunglasses more…it is just way too bright, resulting in way too many pictures of me squinting lol…you look great, love the necklace!!

This combination is super cute! I think I am going to check out thrift shops… You’ve convinced me… 🙂 I am not an expert in the skincare department, however I feel the same way and mostly I think it is because of the season changing. Because I’ve been doing the same and my face is looking oily too.

That is such a pretty outfit incorporating neon trends right now!
And the location of your shoot is lovely!

I’m sorta afraid of the summer or any change of weather, it messes up my skin a little!
