outfit one: rock & republic jeans, jcrew tee (with an old tank underneath), michael kors watch and my crocs melbourne slip-ons. outfit two: rock & republic jeans, jcrew tee, zara blazer, ann taylor greta heels and a thrifted necklace. nail polish is forever yummy by essie.

a few readers have asked for advice on how to go from playdate to date night so i figured since we ALL have jeans and a white tee, why not just stick with the basics? if you only buy one thing this spring/summer, i say make it a fun bright blazer (or if you’re even more daring try a printed blazer)! all i did was throw on a blazer, statement necklace, killer heels and a swipe of red lipstick and my playdate uniform became a night out on the town outfit!

You look absolutely gorgeous in that third photo! I just bought a yellow Zara blazer and have been wearing it to death…but have to wait to show it on the blog since I’m using it as my 4WTW piece for June! 🙂

Love it! I just had to do this. We were running late and had to drop off the kids. I thought I was going to have an hour to take a shower and get changed, but no! Instead of a blazer I have a cute Lauren Conrad pink cardigan with flowers paired it with some heels and I was out the door in 10 minutes! Wish I had that yellow blazer in my closet… 🙂

Love the Yellow blazer with the red lips, I swear I never owned anything yellow and in this past year I keep doing the yellow and red thing more and more. Glad to see I”m not the only one.

Those heels ARE killer!! I love jeans and white tees. You really can do so much with them. And I think a lot of men really love the simple look! We totally dress up for ourselves or our girlfriends. LOL 🙂

Great advice! though, I haven’t own a perfect white T yet… LOL I’m so behind! I own trendy clothes, but I lack basics… which I realized lately… It’s like, I wanna wear something simple and basic, but man, I don’t have it! lol

Nice transition from tee and jeans to blazer chic! Blazers do make any outfit look put together. 🙂 Great post!

so i was going to say you TOTALLY need to get this jcrew white tee…and then i realized it is a bit sheer. but i got it from jcrew factory so it was only like $10! and i love the fit of it. =) i know what you mean about not having enough basics…i end up pulling out dingy old tanks/tees from like the 90’s that i can’t even believe i still own! =) ha ha

I never owned anything from J.Crew either! So many bloggers has it and heard it’s a good quality.. but then I saw the price and I was like eek! lol But if it’s really good and $10… I might go for it! Though, I don’t know there’s J.Crew factory stores new my area… =\

I actually bought 1 basic white tee from H&M for under $10.. but then, like you said.. little sheery so I have to put something under neath.. lol I might go for something not sheer so I can just wear it and not be conscious about whether people can see my bra when I go out grocery shopping. LOL
