so this is the much anticipated gossip girl birchbox. have i told you guys yet that i haven’t seen a single episode? i know it is known for it’s fashion and it is the only reason i know who blake lively is but i never got around to watching it. shocking, i know. nevertheless, i was still SUPER excited for this months box since collaborations are always fun! here’s what i got:

kerastase cristalliste bain cristal shampoo: long, fine hair needs products especially designed to meet its needs. while conventional shampoos tend to weigh hair down with their heavy formulas, this light, paraben-free formula adds incredible body and movement. an oil-solubilization system removes dirt and impurities from your roots, while conditioning agents smooth and polish each strand. an infusion of aloe vera tames frizz and adds silkiness.

kerastase cristalliste lait cristal conditioner: whether you have a thick mane or long, fine locks, this unique conditioner will give you tremendous volume and softness. the secret lies in the triple-threat formula. liquid light reflectors deliver mega-watt shine, while eco-friendly polymers restore brittle, uneven follicles on a microscopic level. vitamin-rich aloe vera hydrates hair without weighing it down, giving you the silky texture you crave.

kerastase cristalliste lumiere liquide: this luxe serum is made with sophisticated light reflectors to add mega-gloss and shine while smoothing away frizz. a generous amount of aloe vera—high in natural amino acids and vitamins—softens and restores dry, brittle ends (the number one problem for girls with long locks).

color club summer pastels nail polish (clambake coral): pastels aren’t just for easter. these creamy shades mix the sweetness of pastels with the boldness of brights. they’re the perfect way to update your wardrobe for summer. each cheery shade looks equally stylish on fingers or toes.

miracle skin transformer body SPF 20: let’s start with the moisturizing part: organic narcissus, jojoba oil, soy amino, and hyaluronic acids keep skin hydrated all day long, while marine extracts add firmness and suppleness. next, a trio of sunscreens—oxybenzone, octinoxate, and octisalate—protect against damaging UV rays, maintaining skin’s youthfulness. finally, skin-enhancing silicone smooths over any surface discoloration. approved by dermatologists, the formula doesn’t contain any mineral oils, talc, or artificial dyes and fragrances.

algenist regenerative anti aging moisturizer: free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, the rich, non-greasy formula utilizes a proven anti-aging superstar: alguronic acid. this innovative marine ingredient works deep beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate cell regeneration. translation? your skin will look smoother and unmistakably younger, and even your most stubborn wrinkles will be way less noticeable.

MY THOUGHTS: i heard some people got DIOR mascara so i’m a little bummed i didn’t get that (being a total spoiled brat here)! BUT…i DO love the nail polish and i’m super excited to try the algenist anti-aging moisturizer. i LOVE anything anti-aging. and kerastase hair products are AMAZING. in fact, i used to use it exclusively (although i used their bain miroir line). my hair dresser just introduced me to this new line so i will definitely be throwing these samples into my travel toiletry bag…sometimes these trial sizes do come in quite handy. i did try the miracle skin transformer cream and i just can’t get past the idea of putting a tinted cream on my legs or decolletage. it did blend very well and left me with a hint of a shimmer but i worry about it rubbing off on my clothes. and lastly, the little something extra was a blank card for a thank you note. i love snail mail so it will surely get used. so what do you guys think? let me know your thoughts in the comments!

p.s. if you haven’t signed up for birchbox yet, you can sign up here for only $10/mo. it is my little gift to myself each month.

I have never watched that show either – haha! That nail polish color is cute, but I’m surprised with it being a “Gossip Girl” edition that you didn’t get more makeup products!?

I got the Dior mascara and I LOVE it ! I didn’t however get any kerastase and I really wanted to try that new line! I have used other kerastase and felt like it weighed down my hair after a while. I did get a Shu Uemura shampoo and I actually loved it so much I ordered it (especially since birhbox messed up my box and sent me an expired sample and I got 100 extra points to add to what I already had 120) so I got 20$ off of the shampoo and free shipping! It was expensive shampoo but I am always looking for something I love and I have yet to find it so I hope t his shampoo is it if not I’m going to try the new kerastase!

I just signed up for Birchbox, so this was my first box! I never watched Gossip Girl either, so I had no idea if/how the products I got are related to the show, haha 🙂 I wish I had gotten the Dior mascara too, I would have loved to try that! I did get the Kerastase samples, which I’m really excited to try because I love the brand, the same XOXO card, and I got a Color Club nail polish but in Disco-something gold. I also got a Dr. Jart BB cream to try (in the tiniest sample size imaginable), and a full-size waterproof blue sparkly Stila liquid eyeliner (so pretty!). Pretty happy with it for my first experience and not being at all familiar with GG, and I can’t wait to see what I get next time! What’s the best item you’ve gotten from a Birchbox goodie box???

I actually have never watched an episode either! Looks like a good box although I would be sad about not getting Dior mascara too.

Your box was packed! I got the Dior Mascara. It is very good. Also Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo which I will be ordering. It is so expensive though. It will be a nice treat. And that was it really. Oh and the body shimmer lotion. Saving that for an upcoming wedding and a perfume sample and the note card. I really wanted to try the BB cream but they must have looked in my makeup drawer and saw that I do not need another BB cream. hahaha

Never seen Gossip Girl, but love Blake Lively’s style. Been curious about Kerastase products and the hype surrounding them. Have been addicted to my Wen but have Kerastase on my radar for the future. Thank you for the product reviews 🙂 xoxo

I am going on 25 and not ashamed to admit that I still love GG! I was so thrilled to get the themed BirchBox this month… so far my favorite item is the nail polish. I really thought everyone got similar products in their boxes when it was a “theme” but I guess not!

Your box is a lot more fun than mine! I was kind of disappointed in my box this month. Hopefully it’ll be a bit better next month…. but Dior?! lucky bitches! 😉

Once again, you got a better box than me! The kerastase line is definitely a hit…and too bad all I got was a Shu Uemara shampoo…no conditioner! I do like the nail polish you received, it’s a great colour, and I think I received the algenist cream in a box…I haven’t tried it. I’ll post the contents of my box in Sunday’s trunk show.

I was jealous of your nail polish until you reminded me that I received the Dior mascara! I had not noticed the XOXO on the back of the card either! Very cute!

I’m a big fan of Kerastase products. My hairdresser back in the Uk turned me on to them and I’ve never looked back. Let me know what you think!

I hadn’t heard of Birchbox until I read your blog and this month was my first box! I got the Kerastase hair products, a Stila liquid eyeliner in shimmery navy, Color Club nail polish in ‘Disco Nap’ (gold glitter) and a sunblock. Unfortunately I was too excited to open box and threw away the notecard with the packaging! But I’m happy with the products – I’m glad I found your blog!

This was my first birchbox and I was disappointed. I received the super small Dr. Jart BB cream, the disco gold nail polish, a single “hair tie” which was just an orange stretchy ribbon tied in a knot (no joke), the XOXO card, and a post card. I was like “SERIOUSLY??”. It was also my first month for myglam (also $10/mo) and I LOVED that one. I highly recommend myglam. My first month had two makeup brushes, a perfume sample, nail “bling” (haha) and a full size StudioGear lipstick. I liked that one better than birchbox. Dior and Stila? I wish. Maybe I’ll have better luck next month, or I may cancel.

You can see my myglam stuff at my blog, if you’re interested.
