i’m not sure how i feel about the peplum trend. it seems so working girl (never even saw that movie but it’s what i would envision melanie griffith wore) 80’s-ish. and since i don’t work in an office anymore, i don’t think i would really wear a peplum skirt in every day life (although i would LOVE to be able to pull off this look). but i am kicking myself a bit for not picking up the h&m leather top. i can definitely see myself in either of the two tops above. what do you think? love it or leave it???

p.s. i’ve pretty much put my foot in my mouth every time i say i’m not a fan of something so if you see me rocking a peplum skirt anytime soon….don’t say i didn’t warn you. because if i had the money, i would totally wear this or even this. =)

I totally agree with you that the peplum tops are much more wearable (& flattering) than the skirt versions – I bought a sleeveless top from F21 that is so cute, but I’d love to also have that H&M leather one! 🙂

Not too sure about the Peplum style craze. I have wide hips, so I try to stay away from anything that adds bulk or draws attention to that area.

Ha ha! You crack me up because I’ve swallowed my words in the past too. I said no to moccasins and I’m a proud owner of leopard ones. I also said no to floral pants….have those too 🙂

I really do want to try this trend but my apple figure has been a little challenging to work with. You would think it would help create some curves…but the tops I’ve tried just make me look heavier on top. I think I’ll move onto skirts. That Zara one is super cute!

I’m not quite sure if it works on me. I tried on the leather h&m top, but didn’t love it (on that day – could be different today…), plus I didn’t know how much I would get to wear it since I don’t actually picture myself wearing it when I bring and pick up my daughter from school…. if you get it, I might have to, too….

Ehh I’m not thrilled with it. While I think the people who can pull it off look amazing in it, I just don’t think I’m one of them. The Zara skirt seems like it would be a pretty low-key version of it. It isn’t as extreme as some of the others, so if I were to try it, I would probably lean towards something like that. I definitely like it on the skirts better than the tops. But that’s just me. I’m definitely interested to see if you do try it and how you will style it!

I like the trend, but not sure a peplum skirt will be flattering on my body. Maybe I will try a top.

I love it! It can feel 80’s in the wrong colors or cut, but I’m a big fan. Anything that makes my hips look bigger is fun for me!

Totally on the same page as you. Love the look on others, but don’t know how flattering it would be on me and really doesn’t fit into my lifestyle.
