my beautiful grandmother passed away peacefully this weekend just four months after my grandpa. she was in the late stages of alzheimer’s disease. even though we knew this day was coming, it does not make losing her any easier. i am thankful i was able to be with her before she passed and was there for her last rites. all i wanted to do was get in her bed with her and never let go. my grandma was always feisty and i adored her for it. she always spoke her mind. i had a very special bond with my grandma and my heart aches that she is gone. grandma…i love you so much. i hope you are with your momma & daddy again. please give grandpa a big hug for me. until we meet again….xoxo.

Oh Jenn…these are really the times that I wish we lived closer! I want to bring you a coffee cake and come give you a big hug. 🙁 I know how special she was to you and I’m so sorry honey. It’s never easy no matter how expected it is. At least she is with your granpda now and no longer battling that awful disease. Praying for you & your family today!

I’m so sorry for your loss, Jen. I’ll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I too was close to my grandmother when I lost her… I was 13, and even today, I have a very hard time dealing with the fact that I miss her so much and how I wish she could have seen me through many of life’s milestones. I’m sure you will cherish all your memories with her and you’ll always keep her close to your heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have only been following your blog for a short time but when I saw the beautiful profile photo of your grandmother and you and read her passing I literally began to well up with tears. Again I am truly sorry, but as long as you keep her alive in your heart she will never leave you as I am sure you already do.

You were so lucky to have your grandmother as long as you did. Remember her young and vibrant. I bet she was a beauty like you. All the best to you and your family during this time.

First of all *hugs*, 2 years ago we suddenly lost my grandmother. When my husband walked in the door with a blank stare and a tear I knew something had happened. It is still and open wound and we it completely took us by surprise even though we knew she was not feeling 100%. there isn’t a day I don’t miss her and as I am sitting her writing you I am full of tears. Cherish the moments you had with her, that’s what I do when I pick up the phone (still to this day) and want to call her. May your grandmother rest in peace. I can see she was as sweet as any grandmother can be.
