i am wearing: vintage kimono dress from yeye, miz mooz boots (similar), anthropologie belt and stella & dot and h&m bracelets.

i bought this dress months ago. you guys know i am a huge fan of chain stores like h&m and forever21 but sometimes it is nice to just own something that no one else has. as soon as i saw this vintage dress, i knew it had to live in my closet. i also knew my husband would hate it as soon as he saw it. he never thinks anything is cute until he sees it on. the sleeves are REALLY going to throw him off…but once he sees the short skirt…he no longer sees the sleeves. see how that works??? it’s a win win really. =)

Haha – this is so true! I have to “explain” certain pieces to my hubby before he understands why I want them. Silly boys 🙂

LOVE the dress! Looks great paired with the belt. I always try to use F21 and H&M to find filler pieces for my wardrobe instead of making them the main staple. ~jen

Hilarious. I always (accurately) predict my husband’s reaction to my outfits, but I still LOVE to hear his commentary. Cracks me up. I like how you find parts of the outfit to distract yours – nice tip! 😉

What a pretty dress and it looks like it fits you really nicely! And LOL re: husband….hehehe

I totally agree- having something original that no one else has is nice.

OMG guess what I just realized? I realized that I found your blog awhile back when looking for a nautical dress and I think I left you a comment on your H & M striped dress!!! : )

Love this! I love H&M, but I always have a staredown in the streets with women as we walk by wearing the same thing (sigh). I love finding something vintage or at an original boutique.

LOVE that dress!! Totally the kind of dress I’d love to buy. I also love the idea of having a piece of clothing, or anything really, that no one else has, but it’s hard to do when the only thing that’s around you is chain stores…

This piece is so pretty and unique! I know what you mean about having something no one else does and also about explaining a look to the hubby. He always likes it once he sees it on! 🙂
