since i have been a birchbox subscriber for almost six months now, i thought i would share my 5 favorite products so far:

amika obliphica hair treatment (comparable to moroccan oil): don’t let the word ‘oil’ scare you off — this weightless serum disappears into hair without any residue, and adds tons of softness and shine. just a couple drops smooths flyaways, tames frizzies, and protects from heat styling.

why i love it: i bought moroccan oil light before i heard of this product. the amika hair oil feels even lighter so it works fabulous on my fine hair. oh, and the scent is amazing!

laura geller spackle tinted under makeup primer in bronze: not only does this primer keep your foundation in place around the clock, but it also works as a brilliant bronzer. the lightweight formula is also oil-free, making it suitable for all skin types.

why i love it: i have tried SEVERAL primers and this one really IS light. most primers i’ve tried tend to leave me with oily patches (and cakey powder) and this one does not. and it has a very light bronze tint to it which i love (especially for fall/winter months).

twistband hair ties: these chic hair ties keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving ugly creases. best of all, they look as good on your wrists as they do in your ponytail.

why i love them: i’m embarrassed to admit it but i still have scrunchies laying around the house. that was until i tried these. they hold my hair without pulling or breakage. and they really are a cute addition to any arm party.

zoya “touch collection” nail polish: zoya’s new “touch collection” has three spot-on taupe shades for your minimalist pleasure. each polish has a slightly different character: minka is the lightest and a true nude; shay is slightly darker and pinker; and pandora is more of a rose-buff hybrid. all three are extremely opaque, with just a touch of shimmer.

why i love it: i’ve said many times that i have a tough time with pearly colors with my skin tone but i got the shay polish and it works for me. opaque w/ just a touch of shimmer describes it PERFECTLY.

incocco nail strips: let’s be honest—it’s annoying to wait for your nails to dry. these nail polish strips make it easy to get a flawless manicure without worrying about smudging or streaking. they come in a range of styles, from simple solid colors to out-there designs (leopard, anyone?). best of all, the strips last up to two weeks and comes off with regular nail polish remover.

why i love them: um, they are FUN to apply! and SO easy! they would definitely not last two weeks for me (my hands are always in water and i’m very hard on my nails) but i applied these faster than i could polish my nails and there is no dry time. yay!

there’s still time to sign up in time for november’s box, click here to join.

oh I need to look into this hair treatment…I use Moroccan oil every other day, love it, but I do have finer hair…maybe that one would be better for me!

I LOVE the Laura Geller spackle! I’ve been using it for 2 years….the same bottle! It works like a dream and isn’t expensive. These are some great picks.

I got my first box in October! I loved the mask that was in it. I hate I didn’t know about it sooner. You got some good stuff!

The spackle was the only thing I never got in one of my birchboxes, but all the rest of these I completely agree with you on! I too was a bit leery of the oil but am now obsessed with it!
