ootd: remixed

i am wearing: c/o shabby apple dress as a skirt (last seen here), jcrew chambray shirt, necklace from women’s bazaar, bracelet from a boutique in hawaii and jessica simpson wedges.

i have been dying to wear this dress as a skirt for a while but was having trouble deciding how to wear it without using a cardigan since it has been pretty warm out lately. i am in a weird in-between seasons funk. i have so many bright summery outfits to wear still but fall colors and my boots are calling my name lately. luckily i live in southern ca so i still have some time to wear out my summer wardrobe. i thought for sure my husband would not care for this outfit but his first words when he saw me were “you look cute today”…go figure! i’m glad because you know i love a good twirly skirt.

p.s. if you would have told me 6mo ago that i would be tying up a shirt into a knot, i never would have believed you.

An outfit is a million times better when you get a compliment from your husband! And I can see why he made the comment. The stripes and the chambray with that necklace is very pretty!

I LOVE IT! That dress is fabulous, I absolutely love the stripes. The accessories are the perfect touch too. LOL at your comment about tying your shirt. I did it a few weeks ago and couldn’t get over the fact I was actually doing it, but it does look great and is a great way to use a blouse as a coverup instead of the (as much as I love them) predictable cardi.

This is such a perfect late summer look. I love how you used a dress as a skirt! The stripes are wonderful and the cut creates a beautiful silhouette on you. Yo accented it perfectly with the red colored jewelry and denim top. Wonderful all around!

I LOVE it as a skirt – even better a pieces that can be worn as a skirt or dress = bonus! Love the stripes with chambray.

I agree, my boots are straining to come out of the closet. Which is sad since just a few short months ago I was so happy to put them there.

I’m having the same summer/fall conflict! And the weather around here can’t seem to make up it’s mind either! Anyway, I love how you styled this dress as a skirt–that chambray shirt looks fantastic knotted over it like that!
