i am wearing: h&m maxi dress, tshirt from target, dolce vida wedges from nordstrom rack, marc jacobs sunglasses, michael kors watch, h&m bracelets and helen ficalora necklace.

this weekend was supposed to be super overcast and gloomy but both days ended up being gorgeous! saturday, my mom and i took “eep” (my son) down to the beach so we could check out the “surfing madonna“. there was supposed to be a flash mob so i was all excited thinking there was going to be some choreographed dance like in all of the commercials. not so much…it was more like a group of people walking down the street singing “surfing safari” all off key. long story short, an artist put it up under a railroad overpass and the city originally deemed it graffiti. apparently they paid a lot of money to try and figure out how to remove it so the artist came forward so they wouldn’t destroy it. now all of the locals love it and are having candle light vigils and “flash mobs” to save it. it really is pretty in person. too bad i can’t say the same for the poor cardiff kook. although he was dressed up this weekend holding a huge diamond ring with a marriage proposal. unfortunately i didn’t get a picture for you but click on the link above to see how this poor statue has been dressed up over the years. how was your weekend???

Oh how cool! I love fun local attractions like this, especially ones with a good story. Also, weekends that are supposed to be gloomy and wind up sunny are awesome! Like a Christmas present 🙂
