i am wearing: lavender ruffle top from anthropologie, f21 orange maxi skirt, american eagle belt, h&m bracelets and born sandals (not shown).

i have found just about every excuse this past week to not take ootd pics. the weather is too nice…the weather is too gloomy…and non-stop appointments & errands! i feel like i can’t get caught up…each day there is a new list of things to get done. it probably doesn’t help that i have the worst sleep pattern i have ever had in my life. i guess that is normal after having a baby, right? friends have told me you sleep with one eye open for the rest of your life after kids. they weren’t kidding! i go to sleep at about 11:30 every night and then wake up SEVERAL times throughout the night. then eep gets up at 5:30 (like clockwork) to eat. then i put him back down and fall asleep right about when he wakes up for good at about 7:30-8:00. and then i feel so unrested. don’t get me wrong…this is a MILLION times better than waking up every two hours to feed when he was a newborn but i MISS sleep. i can’t remember the last time i slept for five hours straight. i think i’m going to start forcing myself to go to bed earlier. as i type this my husband is sleeping like a baby. of course. is there a sleep training book for moms? i need it.

    I love that purple top!!!

While, I don’t have a child (and it will probably be a looong time before I do) I feel your pain. I love my sleep too! And when you wake up unrested it just throws off your whole day!

I haven’t done an outfit post in awhile.. I’m just lacking inspiration when it comes to clothes. I tried on what I thought would be a great idea yesterday-it wasn’t :/
Not to mention, my hair is in a constant ponytail because it needs cut so bad!

Okay, I’m done complaining I promise!

But don’t worry- you can’t tell you’re tired from the photos 😉

Sleep is an elusive beast, that’s for sure.

I adore this color combination and the silhouette is great on you! I love the belt lower on the hips like that. You look great!

I LOVE this color combo! You look darling. And I’ve been telling myself I will go to bed earlier for years. I’m still holding out hope that it will happen someday soon…

I remember those days all too well! My daughter (the oldest) was a great sleeper as an infant, all she needed was to get up and eat and then would fall asleep right away. When we moved into a new house though, she started getting up a lot and wanting to sleep with us. It didn’t stop until she was almost three (I made the mistake of tiredly moving over and allowing her to get in bed with us.) Then we had the second. Nice, right? My son as an infant, completely different story. Always wanted to be held. It took a long time for me to get him to go to sleep at night. I was so exhausted and frustrated during that time. Now that they’re older, I’m getting a full night sleep again, so it gets better! But those nights of no sleep are long and frustrating for sure. Hang in there! And yes, husbands sleep through it all. Doesn’t bother them.

Love the outfit! The colors with the cognac belt are perfect!

LOVE this color combination. And it looks so cute, but still casual and cool. I’m so glad maxi dresses and skirts are still “in” because I love to throw them on when it’s hot out!!! : )

I just came across your blog & am already a fan! I have 7 month old twins so I feel your pain as far as sleep deprivation. Although I will say it has gotten better this last month, minus a few bumps in the road!

You look amazing, & I have to say I’m a little jealous! 🙂 Most days I’m lucky if I can get a shower before 8pm! And I NEVER thought I’d be saying that in my lifetime. A post on being a tired mom & still finding easy, quick ways to look cute would be awesome! Or maybe you have one already, I have more reading to do here!

    Thanks & good luck!
