me and my grandma on my wedding day.

to all my momma readers out there…i hope you had a wonderful & relaxing mothers day weekend!!! on saturday my girlfriends and i went to lunch and a movie to celebrate my birthday (my real bday is on tues). we saw “something borrowed”…it was cute! i read the book when i was living in nyc and now i want to read it again and all of the sequels too! then this morning my husband and son woke me up with cards and presents for my first mothers day. after that, my mom and i went to visit my grandma who is now living in a home (she has alzheimer’s). it was the first time she asked me what my name was which was really hard to hear. i have always been really close with her so it is just heartbreaking to watch. i wish i could turn back time and have more conversations with her. even though it was an emotional day, it was still just nice to spend my first mothers day with my mom and grandma.

    You are a beautiful mama!

I was super close with my grandmother too, but she passed away about 5 years ago from cancer. I think of her everyday, she was my ultimate role model who told me countless stories about her experiences and life. Grandmothers and mothers are precious jewels. My heart breaks for you too, love. I would be a mess writing about my grandma on my blog – and from your tweets it sounded like you were having a hard time :/

You and your grandma are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you had a wonderful 1st mother’s day! You have got to be one of the most stylish mama’s I know 😉

    Xo,
    Erika

I am glad you had a special mother’s day! And I know how hard it is to watch a grandmother change. Hopefully you can hold on to all the wonderful, positive memories you have with her, and just be there for your mm during the hard times.

This post really tears at my heart. We just put my Gram in a home. We saw her on Saturday night and she didn’t remember that my sister is married or that she had a baby. 🙁 I was super, super close with her and it is so hard to watch. At this point I just hope that I am able to get married while she is still alive!

HAPPY Mother’s Day! I bet it was exciting to celebrate!

I am a May baby too! I’ll wait until Tuesday for the well wishes!

    XO

I can’t imagine how heart-breaking that must be. At least you do still have time with her to ask her questions and get to know her better and learn about her childhood more…I really need to take the time to do that with my grandmother too.

You look beautiful in your wedding photo, by the way!

What a beautiful picture of you and your Grandmother – it brings tears to my eyes and I’m sure it does the same for you, too. It must have been hard to hear your Grandmother say that to you. Try to stay positive about it.

I hope you enjoyed your first Mother’s Day!

I lost my Grandma last year to Alzheimers, I remember the day she asked who I was 🙁 I went home and just cried for hours.
