this was an outfit and a photo blooper. nothing to do with hair other than the fact that i look like cousin it who is just a hair monster, right?

this weeks FBFF topic is “hair care”. getting my hair done is one of my favorite things!

1. how often do you get your hair cut? i get my hair cut and colored every six weeks. i don’t mind the roots so much as they grey hair. i have had grey hair since i was 21. i will go bald plucking them if i don’t get my hair done every six weeks. i would go every five but my hairdresser (who also happens to be one of my bff’s from highschool) won’t let me because some crazy talk about not being enough re-growth!

2. do you go to the same stylist each time, try someone new, go to the
cheap hair cutting chains or live it up in a salon? i live it up at a salon. it is like a therapy session. i go and talk my girlfriends ear off. there is also another lady who is on the same hair schedule as me so i talk her head off too. i used to like to go and NOT TALK the whole time but now i obviously don’t get out enough…lol.

3. do you color your hair? how often? what’s your natural color? see above. and i have no idea what my natural color is anymore. i was born with strawberry blondish hair, then i was a toehead and then it just kept getting darker and darker. now i think it is grey.

4. the one thing you always do to keep your hair looking great is: i wash every other day and use deep conditioner every few days. i also use two different leave in conditioners (infusium 23 and bed heads ego boost). and i still take prenatal vitamins daily.

5. what hair trend do you love and wish you could rock? i would love to try the ombre look but until grey roots and bleached tips come in style…i am stuck with blonde. =)

as always, be sure and stop by modlychic to see everyone’s answers.

I love the color of your hair and it looks super healthy. Cousin It never looked so good! I had to guesstimate my natural hair color, too! Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.blogspot.com

When I was getting my hair colored, I used to have it touched up every 4 weeks! I was going from medium brown to varying shades of intense red and I just couldn’t stand to see any roots.

So I agree with you that there’s definitely regrowth before 6, especially if your hair grows quickly! 😉

(Come to think of it, I was a strawberry blonde as a child, too. If only we could keep that beautiful color, right?)

I’m going gray early too! I got a few when I was 18, pulled them out, they never came back. I blame the stress of senior year scholarships & such.

Now I’m 23 and I have quiiiite a few. I’m starting to get highlights or dye my hair my natural color to cover them up. I’ve never dyed my hair and I really don’t like it much. I’m not looking forward to the day when the grays start popping up and they aren’t hideable anymore! Now, I just pull the ones that are visible to the outside world.

I really enjoyed doing this FBFF post!!

Not too sure what my natural hair color is either! LOL Nice that you have someone you know so well for your stylist. And don’t feel bad about wanting to dye your hair at 5 weeks! I would dye mine the SECOND a saw roots if I could!

Gotta love them greys! I have a little chunk of white in my hair!
You’re very lucky to have a friend that does hair!

I usually only go to the salon every 6- 8 weeks because I have a relaxer, but the humidity in Houston is so crazy that I might hvae to go once a week now.
