this weeks FBFF topic is “outside influences” ~ a couple weeks ago we talked about our inspiration when it comes to blogging and so many people said that other fashion bloggers are a huge inspiration. But there are many other factors that influence us…

1. what magazines do you subscribe to? i get us weekly, glamour, lucky and parenting magazine. does parenting magazine count? ha ha.

2. do you watch any fashion TV shows? no. i am a reality show junkie…currently addicted to celebrity apprentice, the voice and real housewives of orange county. but NOTHING beats big brother! i can’t wait for big brother to come back!!!

3. beyond blogs, what websites do you frequent for fashion inspiration? honestly i have a hard enough time keeping up with all of the blogs that i love but i do *drool* over my fave clothing websites OFTEN.

4. advertisements play a huge role in forming public opinion about a product or brand… what ads do you like and why? the first one that comes to mind is the recent jcrew ad with jenna lyons painting her sons toenails pink. i think it was cute…my husband does not. so i guess eep (my son) will have to get blue nail polish…lol.

5. do you own any fashion books? not really. i have been wanting lauren conrad and whitney port’s style books for a while now but have yet to purchase them. i do have kevin aucoins making faces beauty book but that is about it. what do you ladies think…do you have either book and do you recommend it???

as always be sure and stop by modlychic to see how everyone else answered their questions!

I looked through Lauren Conrad’s book at Target and nearly bought it. It looked really fun to me. I haven’t seen Whitney Port’s book, but I would be interested since I love her style. I need to subscribe to Lucky already. I keep buying it in the checkout line. Great post!

I also looked through Lauren’s book at the store – very cute and had some great outfit ideas in it. I do have the book “Dress Your Best” by Stacy & Clinton (What Not to Wear), which is great for finding the best style for your body type. Oh, and I can’t survive without my InStyle, Glamour & People StyleWatch magazines!

I too have thought about getting the Lauren Conrad book, but I think I am waiting for it to go on mega sale.

I bought the Lauren Conrad book for my friend last year – I flipped through it once she gave me the O.K. to do so, and I loved it. Lauren has such fabulous fashion sense… the book is totally worth it. If I could’ve gotten away with ripping a couple of the pages out, I would’ve… but I didn’t, because that would’ve made my friend sad.

First of all, just started reading your blog. LOVE.
Secondly, I purchased Lauren Conrad’s Style book, and let me tell you, you will not regret the purchase! Overall I am pretty organized when it comes to my closet, but with some of her tips, I feel like I sorted out more and realized exactly what it is I need to purchase! Definitely recommend it!
