i am wearing: jcrew sailor shorts, striped shirt from motherhood (yes, motherhood…lol), necklace from shopbop, tag heuer link watch and grey suede studded sandals from nordstrom rack (not pictured).

my husband picked out this spot for my pics (top three pics). he said he left these “weeds” here just for me and my pictures =) i am not in love with this outfit. i feel like the shorts are just a weird length or they are in-between high-waisted?!?! i don’t know. maybe it’s the motherhood top…lol. i feel like it looks like i have NO waist. maybe i should have worn a blouse-ier (is that a word-sp?) top? what do you guys think?

p.s. another question…in the pink writing below my pics, which is easier to read…the pink writing or the pink link for the jcrew shorts? THANK YOU!!! ~xo

I love this outfit, actually! I think the shorts are great – plus I’m always impressed when people can wear white… I’m way too messy!

PS – I think the pink writing is a bit easier to read.

I agree that they’re not quite high waisted, but I still think they’re cute!
I think the unlinked part is easier to read. but that’s just me 🙂

I agree with you. It’s cute but it feels like something is missing, maybe a cardigan or blazer would finish it off.

I actually was going to comment and say I LOVE these shorts. Perhaps they aren’t fully high-waisted but I think they are very flattering on you.

And I find the linked text easier to read.

He picked a great backdrop. Very lovely. I do like your oufti. All neutral colors. I feel the same way usually about high waist shorts/pants. If you blousan over your top or wear something boxy but crop that ends right at your waist you can play with different proportions.
The pink writing is easier to read (better thant he link color).

The sailor shorts are so cute. I think a brightly colored necklace would have really set off the white and stripes though!

I think that a blousier top would dress up the shorts and not show how high/not high the waist is.

I liked the Link text the best. Reading the other comments I am going against the grain. Haha.

BTW…I have said it before BUT really I cannot believe you had a kid recently. I would never know. Lucky girl 🙂

I actually love this outfit and think that it looks great, though if it is not comfortable, then that is what matters, and you should definitely switch it up next time to make it something you like more.

Both colors of texts are easy to read, but the non-link text is definitely a bit bolder and slightly easier.
