This weeks FBFF topic is “Inspiration” – To further mark one year of FBFF we are going to answer the same set of questions asked this time last year as I think they are still pertinent today and usually ever changing. ~Katy, Modlychic

1. Which celebrity (celebrities) do you look to for fashion inspiration? i love love love olivia palermo and blake lively’s style. but what is funny about that is that i don’t watch gossip girl (have never even watched a single episode) and i can’t stand olivia (well, the olivia i saw on the city).  if i could dress like anyone, it would be one of them.

2. When it comes to your own personal style, what inspires you? i get most of my inspiration from magazines and other bloggers. i feel like i always look the same so i have been trying to dress up my outfits and play with colors and new trends. i love seeing a look that i love and trying to come up with something similar with something i already have in my own closet.

3. How do you hope to inspire your readers? hmmm, well i just want to be a fashionable mom. as a stay at home mom, it is easy to stay in my pj’s all day so having this blog inspires me to get dressed up more than i normally would. my husband jokes all of the time that he can see how dads just start looking like dads (jeans cinched up high with a belt and loafers…you know what i mean…but i promise he isn’t this bad…YET) because we rarely go out so he has no idea what is in style anymore…lol.

4. Outside the realm of fashion who/what inspires you? mom’s who work full time and have kids and still take the time to look good and are still stylish. i was at the mall a week ago waiting for the elevator as all moms do and this woman walked out with two kids under the age of five and twin babies in a double stroller. she was calm & collected and looked adorable. i asked her how she does it and told her she was my hero. a complete stranger. she inspires me.

5. And since Idol is ending… Which songs inspire you? well, i haven’t watched idol since kelly clarkson. and it is WAY too hard to pick songs because i have a million faves. i love playing my ipod while getting ready. lately i have been playing david guetta’s “sexy b*tch” and i dance around thinking to myself that i will probably never go dancing again. it reminds me of how old i really am…ha ha.

I like their style too. I have often wondered if Olivia is really like that in life or did they edit things to make her as awful as she was in the City.

You didn’t choose any mom’s whose style inspires you. Who would they be?

Olivia does have good style. I’d love to redo her style ensembles with a budget fashionista in mind, (average working lady). Thanks for sharing these, I’m also sometimes inspired by bloggers! 😉 Happy weekend!

I completely agree about seeing busy moms who are still able to style themselves!! That flat out amazes me to be honest! I am watching my 4 godchildren for the week right now while their parents are in Vegas, and it has been crazy difficult to get ready and look nice every day! It gives me a whole new respect for every mother out there! Especially my own! 🙂

Lovely post. Very similar when it comes to #2 and #3. That is funny about the ‘dad uniform’. Here that would be shorts, tee and flip flops. But I am not sure if that is even a ‘dad’ uniform. That is more of a ‘guy’ uniform in San Diego.
If you can get them out of that it is pretty amazing. 🙂
