the adorable and always funny jj from blah blah blahger sent me a message on twitter asking how i do my messy bun…so this one is for you girl! i am not ready for vlogging yet because i can’t stand hearing my own voice on my voicemail so i am certain hearing AND seeing myself on a vlog might just scar me for life! =) this is how i do my messy bun. let me know if you have any questions! oh and how do you like my coral mani with copper moons???

what you will need: ponytail holder, a couple bobby pins and i like to use a few of these small clips.

step one: (ignore my roots and greys..ha ha) pull your hair into a high ponytail and leave your bangs out.

step two: tuck your bangs behind your ear (or style your bangs if you have them-however you like). i guess you could leave your bangs sideswept but i don’t like that look on me for some reason! then wrap the end of your ponytail around the ponytail holder and clip in the back.

step three: secure any loose hair with bobbypins and/or clips (i use both). pull your bangs back and around the ponytail holder and secure with a bobbypin. i like the way my bangs look more “styled” this way than if i were to have just pulled them straight back into the ponytail. i also pull out a few strands…the messier the better.

tah dah…this is what it looks like. mine turns out different every time so play with it until you like it!

and the other side. this is my favorite hairstyle when i don’t feel like straightening or curling my hair.

i am wearing craving coral and copper penny…both by revlon.

Thanks for the tutorial. I like the idea. I just never get that step 2 where you tuck the ends into the holder part right but I will try again.
    Love the nail polish.

Your hair always looks amazing. Thanks for the little looksy into how you do it. If I am ever patient enough to get my hair to grow that long, I’m stealing it.

I have a feeling that mine would still not look like this after attempting your tutorial, but great job!

Have you ever curled your hair with a straightener? I’m trying to figure that one out for a way hair look but maybe it is just that I’m too lazy to put 30 minutes into fixing my hair.

You have beautiful hair… and so much of it! I think my hair might be too short to create such a great messy bun, I’m growing it out. With my hair just hitting my shoulders, I can only make an itsy bitsy bun!

I do love your tip for bangs, I can do that one 🙂
