After scolding one’s cat one looks into its face and is seized by the ugly suspicion that it understood every word. And has filed it for reference. Charlotte Gray

dear stitchy:

it’s been about three and a half years since we first met at helen woodward. you were there with your brother and being that i was single and living in a studio in a high rise in LA, i could only get you (although i would have loved to have both of you). your names were rhythm and blues so you know i had to change that immediately! all of my cats have had names that started with an “s” so “stitchy” it was. you have the softest fur i have ever felt…i mean like bunny rabbit soft…such a cute kitty. we like to call you an exotic teacup tiger since you are just so beautiful. i just wanted to thank you for gracefully stepping out of the limelight and being so gentle around eep. he smiles whenever you rub against him and tickle his face with your tail. now that i have buttered you up, there is just one little teeny tiny thing i wanted to talk to you about…i hope you don’t mind…we are soon going to be adding a dog to our family. i knew you would understand. and don’t worry…i wont show this picture to anyone:
